RAWALPINDI – Special Customs Court Judge Rana Aftab Ahmed Khan on Thursday reserved judgment to conduct an inquiry against model Ayan Ali in the money laundering case.
According to details, as hearing started the custom’s counsel Aun Muhammad told the court that according to Custom Act 2010 amount earned by illegal means falls under the Money Laundering Act and requested the court to order an inquiry against her under the act.
Ayan’s counsel Latif Khosa argued before the court that according to the Sindh High Court judgment inquiry against her does not come under the act. After hearing arguments from both sides the court reserved judgment till March 30.
Meanwhile the court on her another application to grant exemption from appearing before the court, adjourned the hearing till April 28. Ayan was arrested by the custom officials on March 14, 2015 from Benazir Bhutto International Airport and recovered $5,08,000 from her.
